Sweden ‘s most beautiful dream-like lakes (part 1)
Sweden has an estimated 100,000 lakes; so it does not matter which way you travel to the Swedish border; wherever you go, you will never be far from a beach or the sea.
Many of these lakes are the largest lakes in Scandinavia and Europe. It is not surprising that in leisure and holidays, the people of these regions and surrounding countries, these natural reserves of water are targeted for tourism and enjoy the nature.
Sweden is close to the North Pole, so it experiences harsh winters. A one-meter ice layer covers most of these lakes most days of the year.
Asnen Lake
Asnen is in the south of central Sweden, between the Baltic coast and the North Sea. It has a special reputation because of the Algerian archipelago (more than 1000 islands) that you can see around it.
The lake is located near the Genta Guard Protected Area, one of the largest bird sanctuaries in Scandinavia; therefore, it is especially popular with birdwatchers and wildlife photographers.
For a closer look, it is best to have binoculars, an ornithological book with you so that you can spend your time better and more productively in this protected, and dazzling place.
The lake is known for its dense and green forests that cover large parts of the coast during the spring and summer months. This area is also famous for its wildlife. Otters, deer, and ostriches are found especially in the less populated areas of Lake Beaufort.

Akkajaure Lake
Although technically Lake Akkajaure is a man-made water reservoir, it is one of the largest lakes in the country. This lake is one of the deepest lakes in Sweden. The water level of the lake fluctuates widely.
Located in the northwestern part of the country, about 50 km from the Norwegian Sea, Lake Akkajaure is one of the most stunning views of the Alps in Sweden. Fishing, boating, and swimming are popular summer activities on the lake, but due to its northern location, they have early autumn and winter, which makes the period of these recreations limited.
Hornavan Lake is in the north-central part of the country between Norway and the Bay of Bhutan. That is at the northern end of the “chain of finger-shaped lakes” that extend to Sweden’s western border with Norway. Around the lake is one of the most famous of Sweden’s national parks and has unparalleled views.
Throughout the year, attractive tourist options are around the lake. There is a variety of attractions available to those planning a solo or touring tour.
